Members of the Republic of Ireland women’s team have been filmed appearing to sing a pro-IRA song as they celebrated qualifying for the 2023 FIFA World Cup.

Vera Pauw’s side put in a heroic effort to beat Scotland 1-0 at Hampden Park in Edinburgh on Tuesday night to become the first Irish side to qualify for a major women’s tournament.

But in their celebrations, which naturally continued into the dressing room, a number of players were filmed appearing to sing a pro-IRA song with the lyrics ‘Up the Ra’.
