A Few of My Favorite Spring-Inspired Tabletop Products | Wit & Delight

It’s officially here. That magical fleeting season of spring. It’s time to open up the windows, put away the heavy linens, start thinking about dining al fresco, set the table, and gather with friends and family again. It’s time to make the most of it.

I’ve got fond memories of Easter. The family would gather together over a giant ham, often at my dad’s parents’ beautiful home; I’d have on my frilly white socks and hat while searching for my Easter basket. I think I’m almost as excited as my kids are for the upcoming holiday! It’s a chance to see all the family together again.

I’m not hosting this Easter this year, but I’m ready to swap out some of my tablescape items for the season. After years of purchasing linens and flatware at big box stores or scouring the bins at Goodwill, shopping at Terrain is SPECIAL. It’s where I look for those investment pieces that my kids will remember seeing on the table or in the garden for years to come.

If you aren’t familiar with Terrain, they are a part of the Anthropologie family—a home and garden brand inspired by nature. The quality of the materials is impeccable and just about anything from their lines can be mixed and matched to work together. I picked up several things from Terrain that feel fresh for our house and the season. It feels lovely to effortlessly find the perfect print on a tablecloth or a plate.

Here are a few ways to update your current tabletop for Easter or any gathering this spring.

Linens – A tablecloth can change the way the room feels. I like swapping out heavy lace or cotton for linen this time of year. I selected a plaid pattern that feels bright and springy.

Florals – The tulips haven’t quite bloomed yet here, but this time of year calls for pops of bright color. Stick with a single color in all blooms, or mix it up with pretty pastels. I’m using a magnolia branch I got from Terrain (Terrain also delivers stunning seasonal bouquets, including additional flowering branches).

Nature-Inspired Details – Terrain’s items feel so natural and organic yet incredibly elegant. There are so many items that have nature-inspired details. Last summer, I selected a set of wine glasses with tiny bees; my serving spoons appear to have lavender branches. It’s these little, considered details that make every item feel special.

That Little Something – I don’t stray very far from the classic table setting, but I like adding my own “something extra” when I entertain. I kept everything very neutral for this table setting with very subtle pops of color. I went with white on white dishes and simple flatware, with the extra being a plaid on plaid linen combination.

Hosting is my love language. I love everything about it, from planning to cooking to setting the table. I want everyone who sits at my table to feel welcome and special.

Want to add a little something special to your table? I’ve got a downloadable menu template for you to customize for your next meal.
